How to Exit Safe Mode in Windows 10 and 8 | HP Computers | HP

Exit Safe Mode using Command Prompt when Windows 10 or 8 is stuck in Safe Mode. Turn off your computer, and then turn it back on. On your keyboard, immediately press Escape repeatedly until the Startup Menu displays. Press F11 to select System Recovery. On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot, Advanced options, and then Command Prompt. In the Command Prompt, type bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot, and then press Enter. Type Exit, and then press Enter, or close
the Command Prompt window. Select Continue to restart your computer normally.

  1. Thanks for the tutorial, but I tried to do that but my keyboard and mouse freezes when I go to the Choose an account to continue option when I was trying to go to the Command Prompt.

  2. Using a new harddrive when I click the F11 option it gives me the Your PC/Device needs to be repaired

  3. Thank God I found this video. I was trying to put Windows 10 in safe mode to delete files I couldn't get rid of and took the advice of another channel of using the command prompt. After putting my PC into safe mode I could not get in my computer, I was getting messages that my password was wrong. At first I was using the 4 digit password, then tried using other passwords that I use and nothing worked.

Online I read that when you use the safe mode the password you need to use is the one for getting into Microsoft account. That didn't work so I tried another suggestion which is to change your password, I tried that and it still didn't work. Then I realised it was useless because when in safe mode the internet connection was disabled! When I contacted Microsoft help, it was no help at all. I couldn't understand clearly what the Hindu woman was saying, but what I got was she will reinstall Windows 10 but I would lose all my datas or get a tech. I was pissed, so I asked her why Microsoft do not warn their customers that you can potentially get locked out if you use the safe mode and the dog hanged up on me!

Long story short, this video saved me money and time. Thanks for the very helpful tip.
