This video tutorial shows pfSense 2.3.3 Firewall Installation, Configuration and Review on VMware Workstation/Player step by step. Download pfSense 2.3.3 ISO Create Virtual Machine on VMware Workstation/Player Choose Other and FreeBSD 64-bit Browse to pfSense 2.3.3 ISO file. Change Network Type as “Bridged” Add second network card Start pfSense Installation press “I” to launch the installer Reboot Press “2” to set Interface IP Address pfSense 2.3.3 Initial Configuration via Web GUI Username: admin Password: pfsense Set hostname for pfSense Set Domain Name Set Primary and Secondary DNS Servers Configure Time Related settings. Configure pfSense WAN Interface Configure pfSense LAN Interface Set Admin WebGUI Password pfSense is now configured. pfSense Dashboard Enable Secure Shell Access (SSH) Enable password protection for Console Menu. Install VMware Tools (Open VM Tools) on pfSense VMware Tools (Open VM Tools) installation is completed.   1. Nice video, can you show me how many physical NIC on your PC, are you using router mode on your router that will dial up automatically to get online? got confused a bit on your network topology, want to create the same setup at home. can I use VMware Free edition to create that?

  3. i really liked this tut, which made me update my pfsense server…

    Can a customer (user with prepaid code) disconnect from the pfsense server and keep the remainig time…? for instance a user has paid for 2hours, he browsed for 45mns, and disconnected himself, could the server conserves the 1h15mns remaining for the user the next time he attempts to log on or the server will delete it ?

  6. pfsense has limited hardware support nic would work for so long then pfsence software would drop connection completely hardware would still be present and working just not the connection still waiting for a fix…
