Trump’s WAR on Video Games – What Christians NEED to Know!

President Donald Trump has just dropped a
bombshell by taking a shot at our nation’s addiction to violent video games. Stay tuned! Hi, this is Dustin with Hope Through Prophecy. Please subscribe to this channel to better
understand Bible Prophecy and be prepared for these last days! Are video games just harmless fun, or has
our nation lost it’s mind? In response to recent tragic mass shootings,
President Trump has identified video games as a contributing factor. Is the president over-reacting? Are video games really that big of a deal? Should Christians play video games? Before we answer these questions, let us consider
some key principles. The mind is the center of moral decision making. The mind is the headquarters of our entire
life. It is with the mind that we choose to follow
or reject God, and our mind is responsible for all of our life decisions. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that
we protect and nurture our mind at all costs. The mind controls the whole person. Our entire body, and all the activities it
does – good or evil – are controlled by the mind. To gain control of the mind is to gain control
of the whole person. The mind of youth is under attack. A multitude of influences are competing for
the mind of young people today. Worldly powers realize that the mind is the
seat of one’s decision making and actions. Therefore, We must critically analyze popular
activities and their effect on the mind. We would be foolish to assume that the mass
media, and other worldly entities, have the best interest of our youth at heart. We should also realize that just because everyone
else is doing it, does not make it safe. The Bible tells us that the path to life is
narrow, and few there be that find it. We must be critical consumers, and test all
of our activities by the principles of God’s Word. There’s no doubt that gaming is widespread
in today’s society. I’m at the mall right now, in Texas, close
to where I live. I notice that they have these video games
right in the center isle of the mall – just open for kids, for anyone, to jump on an play. This particular game is called Halo. For those of you who are familiar with Halo,
it’s a very violent game, a very popular game. But you’ll notice that this game is just
open – open for children, anyone to just sit down. This has really become prevalent – these
violent video games just being a major part of our culture. So, we must understand the effects of gaming
on the mind. What does the research say about how video
games affect the brain? Dr. Vincent Matthew, along with his Indiana
University colleagues, conducted research showing that youth who played violent video
games had several observable characteristics. One was reduced concentration and attention. This is a great concern for young people,
who need to have strong attention and concentration to succeed in school and to learn and understand
the Bible. The study also showed that these youth had
decreased emotional involvement. This can directly affect how young people
relate to their parents and to others. God created us to be emotional beings, and
to relate to each other in a warm and loving way. We should avoid anything that would harm our
ability to do this. As a school teacher for 9 years, I can testify
that all of these characteristics were clearly observable in many of my students. Dr. Matthew also observed that children who
played violent video games had less inhibition of impulses. As Christians, we are striving to control
our impulses, with God’s help, so that we can be in harmony with His requirements. It is simply not wise to allow activities
in our lives that would weaken our self-control. Consider this eye-opening video clip, that
shows how video games are used to train soldiers. Now, do I believe that video games our fully
to blame for the violence in today’s society, or that anyone who plays video games will
commit crimes? Of course not – there are many complex factors
that lead to this. But the research shows a clear correlation
between violent gaming and undesirable thought patterns and behavior. The American Psychiatric Association provides
us with additional insights into the affects of gaming. They reveal that gaming can even lead to addiction,
and that certain gamers who had their video games taken away experienced some of the same
withdrawal symptoms as drug addicts. I imagine there are parents watching who can
attest to this fact. Dr. Dunckley’s research showed that gaming
Overstimulates and damages the frontal lobe of brain. This happens because the brain identifies
what it perceives to be dangerous situations in these video games, and activates the body’s
fight or flight systems. What then happens is blood is drawn away from
the frontal lobe toward the lower areas of the brain that are needed for survival. This damage to the frontal lobe is especially
critical for Christians, because the frontal lobe is the part of the brain where we make
our moral decisions. Damage to this area can potentially lead to
us separating from God and missing out on eternity. In addition, video games have the affect of
distancing us from reality. They take us to a fantasy world, and weaken
our desire to study the Bible and to deal with the realities of life. So, what does the Bible say about video games? Does it give us principles and guidelines
that are relevant to this topic? We read in Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things
are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of
good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Friends, this is the standard, the litmus
test that we should apply to all of our activities. Unfortunately, the majority of video games
do not pass this Bible test. A great number of video games are filled with
violence, sex, or other harmful content, and are thus in direct violation of this principle. David says I will set no wicked thing before
mine eyes… David makes a covenant with God that he will
not allow his mind to be defiled by willfully observing sin. We must do the same friends. We must guard the avenues of our soul, which
includes our mind, so that we don’t sin against God. Again, as we consider the majority of video
games, which contain numerous sinful scenes, we see they are in direct conflict with the
Bible’s teachings. Jesus tells us that The light of the body
is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but
when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. Take heed therefore that the light which is
in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light,
having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a
candle doth give thee light. This verse reveals to us that what we take
into our mind changes us. If we allow good and wholesome things into
our mind, it will help us to live a wholesome life, and if we allow evil into our minds,
it will influence us to live a wicked life. The Bible tells us that
The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. God is not pleased with those who love violence. Many of the video games that our youth participate
in promote a love for violence. We should learn to hate the things that God
hates, including violence. Scripture also reveals that
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good
stewards of the manifold grace of God. This verse reveals that we are stewards of
the gifts that God has given to us, and we are to use those gifts to minister to others. A common problem with video games is the great
amount of time they often take up. We are responsible to God for the gifts He
has given to us, and we will be held accountable for how we use the precious time He has entrusted
to us in this short life. Growing up, the early part of my own childhood
involved hours of being outside playing sports with my friends in the neighborhood, and my
father. However, a change happened when video games
began to get more and more popular. I began to spend countless hours entrenched
in these games. When I moved into my first apartment, I realized
that video games would cause me to waste time, and to miss out on many of the goals I wanted
to accomplish, and the plan that God has for my life. So, I made the decision not to have a video
game system in my home, and I am thankful that I have maintained this decision ever
since. So, what is the conclusion? Should Christians play video games? I believe, based on the principles from the
Bible and the abundance of modern research, that video games should be avoided. This would be the safest course for the Christian
to take. However, there may me some rare situations
where Christians can play a video game, and maintain a clear conscious. Perhaps if the game does not violate Christian
principles, and you limit your time on that game, it could be acceptable. But again, I believe that, generally speaking,
it is best to avoid video games altogether. It is better to not have gaming consoles in
our homes that could cause us to sin by wasting time or defiling our mind. The Bible tells us
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the
lusts thereof. The things that we must absolutely avoid include:
Violent video games Games with sexual content
Games with new age or occult content Games with vulgar language
Spending excessive time on games and Spending excessive money on games
Maybe you are convicted by God to give up video games. It is very important to replace all that spare
time with something wholesome. I encourage you to spend more time in prayer,
reading your Bible, and being involved with church activities, such as Bible studies and
helping others. This next verse gives us a powerful principle
that relates to our choice of activities: Set your affection on things above, not on
things on the earth. Friend, if it is your desire to put God first

100 thoughts on “Trump’s WAR on Video Games – What Christians NEED to Know!

  1. No matter what Trump does. America your doomed you've gone too far. 45 million abortions and counting fake wars lies corruption adultery apostasy sodomites and paedeophilles and sexual predators shall destroy everything they get their hands on. And God's had enough and is going to destroy America.

  2. Video games and Hollywood are controlled by satan in these final days to prepare our minds to accept the Antichrist when he comes on the scene!

  3. There may be a few that find it, but once it is found their families and friends will then know, and then their families and friends and so on.

Look at the gold rush, someone finds gold and many go to seek their own and many prospered from it.

So here is that straight and narrow path.

Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5

The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1

The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13

and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity. He is The Law that hung on the cross and The Law that is written in the heart.

    Psalms 40:7

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me

    Hebrews 10:7

Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.

Build up the body of Christ by 'putting on' The Lord. Cling to, dwell in the law (Ten Commandments) and testimony (Sermon on the Mount). We know His voice.

His words are spirit and they are life. Hear Him. Prepare for your future and the life of your loved ones. As Paul tells us, "put on Jesus."

  4. Lord, I put you first in my life, help me to do so, in Jesus name amen.
Glory and praise to you my Lord God Almighty!

  5. Very powerful! I play video games on my youtube channel but i should probably reconsider some of my choices to play. Thanks for being kind and honest about it. God bless my brother!

  6. I call crap on that. It always depends. Ever played supporter? Healing teammates is loving eachother. Sure naps just suck… but I love it.

How damaging could it be that soldiers learn from it. You dont know true gaming with a squad.

I love Jesus with all my heart.

  8. I play violent video games and I’m still a functional human being with a bachelors degree in Computer Information systems.

  9. 'Overbearing' Christian moms have been correct since the 90s. Video games and too much TV will rot the brain.

Of course, some of it in moderation is fine. But most mainstream games are demonic and violent, and are not okay in any dosage. Same with TV shows like Game of Thrones, etc.

  10. I thank Christ for delivering me from my gaming addiction a few years back. Lord, i put you first in my life! If you are struggling with video game addiction, FULLY surrender yourself to Christ, make the necessary changes (cut out video games and dedicate more time to God and doing good) and he will work within your heart! I know so because he did it for me!

  11. Although I am a Nintendo gamer, I have to agree with you. You do have a point. I am a despiser of violent video games such as Grand Theft Auto, Halo, and Call of Duty. When it comes to customizations such as characters, and worlds, that's when I embrace my love for God. I always put games aside when it comes to important priorities. Especially my love for God.

  12. I do not believe in concealing violence ether. People need to know how to world really is videogames aside. People just are not taught the value of life and other things is the real problem.

  13. Generally speaking, I have struggled to kick my gaming addiction, that's right addiction. I have made a decision to walk away from it, do help me God!!!

  14. GOD bless you Brother. This is a great message given to you from Heaven. Donald Trump is God-sent to America. Maranatha!

  15. The Halo story line is also about destroying a big alien ship called " The Covenant". Coiuncidence? I think not.

  16. I keep hearing ridiculous arguments like this.. for those of you who want to play my video games feel free.. but in all reality it's more of a lack of parenting.. of course people want to blame video games. ….everybody's always looking for something else to blame rather than realizing that maybe they're the problem… He couldn't possibly be mommy your Daddy's fault or all these different medications.. the lack of attention from parents or loved ones… Couldn't possibly be any of that… Let's just blame the inanimate object first.. good call!

  17. Lord, please help me. I'm addicted watching anime, reading manga, playing games (I'm just 11 years old.). I also started getting lazy going to church every sunday. LORD PLEASE HELP ME I WANT TO CHANGE. I WANT TO BE SAVED. =(

  18. Omlife I played some with my husband and it was starting to take over me I even went to bed thinking about it couldn't sleep so that was it for me never again and my two younger brothers would stay on it till 3to4 am being so tired started cursing at the TV freaking out and started getting depressed locking themselves up in they're room always upstairs on it they forgot what life was my one brother got off it and slowly went out then got a job and spent time with friends ect so hes better now but my youngest brother is getting angry now turned to smoking weed too

  19. My husband's been better since he hasn't been able to play them because of our kids 😂 thanks lord iv only just realised God answered that prayer

  20. All video games are programming you and arr satanic! You have been warned. Down below check out the symbols in common games, there is also a lot of symbolism in league of legends, call of duty, and more.

  21. Video games had nothing to do with the shootings ! If President Trump wants to put an end to something , Then he should put an end to internet Porn !

  22. Video Games are destroying the young generations. Nevertheless, something worse is pressing. That is that Donald TRUMP is the Antichrist.
You heard that correctly. TRUMP is the ANTICHRIST. Don't question me; instead pray continually and research.
(666/777/88) TRUMP is the 7th Beast and the Last President! Brothers and sisters in Christ wake up!

  23. In the game HALO kids playing the "master chief" go and kill the "Prophet of Truth" on the "halo ring" and their is a defector that helps the humans destroy the alien race called the Covenant and he is called the "Arbiter" and he is a type of Lucifer the rebel joining the fight with humanity against God. Very evil!

  24. I'm gonna say this right now. Before I became a Christian I used to play video games for hours on end (16 hour Skyrim marathon and such)and watch anime as well as porn. As a former gamer I can tell you they are fun but they are just a waste of time. Video games don't lead to a healthy lifestyle either. Mountain Dew, Dorritos and pizza are not a good diet. You'll probably end up fat and lazy. I used to have thoughts of killing other people and stuff like that. I took all the anger and stress throughout my day and poured it into the video game world like Grand Theft Auto. You think your unleashing the anger but in truth you're not. If you think video games don't affect you; my life is a living testimony to the fact that they do. I also threw away all my Yu-Gi-OH cards because trading card games can be endless money pits. Imagine if I had spent that money on giving to the church or saved it instead. Video games are getting worse friends. You buy a $60 game and you don't even get the full game till a year later because of all those DLC packs and micro transactions. It's just a waste of money friends.

Philippians 4:8 tells us: Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. So ask yourselves some honest questions:

    1. Would Jesus sit down and play video games with me?

    2. Would Jesus watch this movie with me?

    3. Would he listen to this song with me?

7 Therefore do not become partners with them; 8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, 14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

    “Awake, O sleeper,
    and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
we are also called to do good works that God has prepared for us to do. There are so many better things to do than play video games. here are some:

1.Volunteer at your church to help out with anything they need. If they don't have a need at the moment than pray for them.
    2. Spend 1 hour a day after work or before your day starts studying the Bible and praying for others.
    3. community service. Let your light shine in your community.
    4. memorize lots of scripture.

Please people; learn from my mistakes. I sold all my video games, all my anime and deleted all my porn and just recently even got rid of all my Disney movies AND EVEN My Little Pony. Disney movies give you bad life theology and teach you junk. It wasn't easy for me to get rid of movies that I grew up with and loved, but we are called to be pure and blameless. Philippians 2:12-16

Ask God if there is anything in your house and of the things you own that he doesn't like. Allow God to clean your house. We came into this world with nothing and we are going to leave it with nothing. The Bible is our standard. If it doesn't fit that standard then it has to go.
If anyone asks me I will upload my testimony on my channel and link it here.

  25. I'm a 16 year old who is guilty of playing violent video games and even worse…. Piracy/Illegally downloading games. I was the biggest pirate in the world before I started getting serious with God and deleted all pirated software on my laptop. Now I want quit GTA 5. Pray for me.

  26. Playing the game of follow the leader is only a great game if the leader being followed has a moral compass that is connected to the word of GOD. We are very fortunate at this time is earth's history to finally have at least one such leader who's moral compass is guided by the word of GOD. GOD has given us a brief moment in time to change the course of societies downward spiral so we should all get behind our great selfless leader who is trying to make America (and the rest of the world) great or great again and he should be praised for the great job he has been doing inspite of terrible opposition by those who don't have the best interest's of America and the world at ♥ heart ♥.

  27. 14. The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?15. He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;16. He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.17. Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off. KJV — Isaiah 33:14 – KJV — Isaiah 33:17

  28. Lord, I put you FIRST in my life. I'm not a big gamer but I do have a few games that I enjoy playing, but this has really made me think about the time I waste on them. Thank you sir for this video.
