  1. I actually did my social science presentation on gaming and its community, and I used this video in it to show what it was like to be a woman in the FGC. Needless to say, I got an A! Show’s just how great your videos are!

  2. Hey, were have you been for the last four months. I know I don’t know you, but I’m still just a bit concerned.

  3. i once saw a female fighting gamer smear blood on her face on a stream……..no one knows where she got the blood tho

  4. For all the people in the comments saying this is feminist bullshit, remmember these are japanese women players, Japan doesnt have the same gender views as America or Europe at times, they face a challenge and a goal far past most Male japanese players. They need and succeed at proving themselves as gamers and competitive fighters. For that they have mine and their fans respect

  5. the fgc seems to be stuck in the past. I thought this video is pointless since it makes no difference…I am really disapointed

  6. Love the new merch in the store~ <3
Would be nice if it had some women's classic tees in there tho. :3 But, you know~ hehe.

  7. I see alot of female contestants for sf, smash and tekken. Why don't I see any for Mortal Kombat competitions

  8. This needs 2 follow up vids with perspectives of women US/CAN FGC and EU FGC. Im curious about the differences.

  9. Thank you SO MUCH for making this video. Things like this need to be heard and help bring awareness and understanding, and it wasn't lost on me that you let the women in the video do the talking instead of trying to put your own interpretation out there for them.

    Great work, subscribed!

  10. Mastering a fighting games takes literal years, I’m always proud of women in any kind of e-sports since their so rare to come by. they as well set a great examples for future girls (and boys) who will later on join the scene. 🙂

  11. In sports, woman has physical disadvantage against man.
In gaming, that disadvantage doesn't exist. So if you lose in gaming, it because the opponent is better than you, gender means nothing here.

  12. I mean this in the most non-sexist or non-insulting way possible, but as a guy, the idea of being a girl in an e-sport sounds rather unpleasant. It's a sausage fest and I would feel very out of place as a girl, expecting other players will be less likely to take me seriously. Being one of the few, if not , the only girl on a place full of single hetero guys also sound rather uncomfortable. Like the chances of random dudes hitting on you are remarkably bigger and it might pull the fun out of playing the game. But this is 100% based on speculation without any facts or experience to back it up. E-sport should be for anyone and we should treat each other equal. I've only played against 2 female players in my life. Both were genuinely good players and they seemed to enjoy their time just fine. I just hope I'm wrong with this speculation and more girls will be encouraged to play the games they love on a professional level, so that this image that E-sports are for guys will be gone (or notably weakened) in the future.

  13. 2:33
hey, could someone please explain what word “pampered” means in this context. Much obliged.

  14. finally, a sport where gender isn't a problem. It's more towards skills, reflexes, and strategy… The only problem is there aren't as many female gamers as males. When you see one, she stands out amongst the rest, but its disrespectful to treat them differently. You go soft they will own you.

  15. If the guys don't want to play with the female players because of the fear of losing the game, they are really losers. They need to learn how to play better, how to respect others, how to enjoy the game. I prefer the stronger players. They inspire me.

  16. This makes me think of how Bocchi was essentially bullied out of Smash Ultimate by a few toxic members of the community. I'm pleased by the overwhelming positive feedback this video is getting.

  17. I find that mentality of "going easy on you just bc you're a girl" is so prominent in the FGC. I don't play in tourneys due to pure lack of funds but in most cases, when my opponent finds out I'm a female it's like their playstyle does a comeplete 180. It's super offensive and bothers me waay more than if I were to get shit talked. Also I see a lot of people wondering why most girl gamers choose 3D over 2D fighters, as someone who picked up SC6 when it dropped and just recently actually tried learning Tekken, it's mainly bc you get more freedom in your play.

  18. Male, Female, doesn't matter. Both are equally capable. The only reason we did not have a Female champion is because of the fewer number they have.

  19. What is it like? It's probably like having thousands of degenerates trying to get with you. But I'm not trying to sell myself out right now…

  20. 1) Kayo Police has a penis
    2) Nobody makes excuses about going easy or not wanting to play girls. That’s all BS
    3) Females DON’T enjoy competitiveness like Males do biologically.

The biggest problem there is with females in gaming is that there is a 1/100 ratio, so naturally girls will get more attention positively or negatively and it effects their experience.

  21. This is the beauty of eSports man and women can fight in a single tournament and get equally famous (Male cricket is so famous while female cricket players don't even earn 1/10th of their male counterparts)

  22. Someone should just post that gif of that girl getting hit in the face with hotdogs. It would sum up a lot

  23. The FGC and other gaming communicates should be places that we play, trash talk and learn from each other regardless of our nationality, race, gender or belief.

  24. My ex, while being a fan of games and loved a lot of video games she did not really like fighting games. Perhaps because of the competitive nature of them. But I introduced her to Bushido blade/II way back on Playstation. And damn, she was good at it.

It feels weird… because gaming has become more socially acceptable, and there was a time that being a "girl gamer" was still kind of stigmatized (Though I think that is getting better, but still not amazing), so it becomes difficult to find a community in which you can find female gamers. Which again is getting better and communities are opening up more.

Unfortunately it feels like, at least in my experience, that the FGC is still one of the few communities where female gamers are extraordinarily rare. Whether this is because of the nature of the game, the lack of interest in fighting games as a whole, or nerves or the community I do not know.

There are some highly skilled female gamers out there that probably would do great at tourneys or streaming, or what have you, but don't. And I kind of feel like that is a shame.

  25. I just lost to UYU's Mimi at evo a few days ago. I tell that to everyone online and in person, with no shame.

  26. Why would somebody care if they lost to a girl😂 the sex doesnt matter, its the skill. I would have went against any of them especially if they were better so i could at keast try to learn some things.

  27. "U lost to a girl" "U lost to a kid" "U lost to an old person" these exit in all forms of competition and would never go away. There are reasons why but I'm not interested in going there…

  28. In the old days, people would never want to play against girls because you look mean if you win, and you look bad if you lose. I never understood this because when I was younger, my older sister would destroy me in Melee. When I told my friends in school and they all made fun of me for “losing to a girl” to this day, they still can’t beat me. I’m very happy this mindset is a lot weaker now, but boy did it feel good to shut them up

  29. If a girl gets turned away from games because of any of the reasons in this videos then she is not a true gamer, therefore +30 respect for these girls for going in anyway.

But seriously us men don't reject female gamers it's just a commodity to us, so we're bound to have some werid reactions it's not out of disrespect or being alienated though.

Attention won't be an issue for girls as more of them ease into video games, one day I'm sure this'll be common place and games will bring the World together.

  30. Great Video, as a Xiaoyu Player myself I'd love to play against Tanukana or Yuyu one day, even though I might get beaten up pretty bad 😁

  31. There's a extremely good female Soul Calibur player in our local meta. She plays the same character as me and she completely destroys me, and I've been playing Soul calibur since SC1.

  32. Women's mental strength in fighting games are weaker than men PERIOD . In terms of patience, waiting and turtling skills…women are not strong….in which they will get impatient easily

  33. So, big take away here is that exposure matters hugely.
Assume this is true for all player types, beyond simply male/female.
So, more features of diverse groups of players pls! 🙂

  34. Considering Japan (as far as I know) seems to have a pretty apparent stigma about women being weaker/frail/etc. than men, it just makes this that much more inspiring.

  35. Wow… that kinda sucks. Lack of motivation, the stigma that you are worse because you are female, that really sucks. The players who think that should really stop.

  36. i mean some dude who refused to play u because ur a girl, thats like losing a 1000 matches in that very moment. If u disrispect play scummy and then get ur ass handed to u if the girl actually beats u, or maybe just be decent and give everyone a fair shake.

  37. I would be honored to get assblasted by such a good player. Whiny ass doeboys wanna be all clipted n shit. S I P B O Y G A N G
